The film goes through the same rooms twice. First he's on his own, with toast and work emails in the kitchen, a flat-pack chair in pieces on the floor and a browser full of Wikipedia tabs. Then Buddy, a small purple character, turns up beside him in each of them, right through to a rainy night on the sofa.
It explains MakesMe.Me without sounding like an explainer, and the end cards say what it's about: one in seven people are neurodivergent, and everyone deserves to be understood. Buddy is a 3D character placed into a photoreal, live-action look, and the light carries the mood, from soft window light by day to amber lamps against the rain at night.
